The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout, down came the rain and washed the spider out,out came the sun and dried up all the rain, and the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again.
Why am I quoting a nursery rhyme you may wonder? Because that little spider gives us a good lesson in perseverance.
When we are working on a goal or a dream, it might start raining and raining sometimes quite heavily.
We ourselves might get washed out or downhearted or discouraged or depressed.
But we we must pick ourselves up, analyse what went wrong … or… maybe it was just bad timing.
Life does have its ups and downs, so we just have to dust ourselves off take a break if we need to, then get back on it.
Just because something didn’t work out once, doesn’t mean it’s not meant to be. Maybe we have to try a different approach, get more knowledge, get some help, or even take a break. But don’t give up.
If we hang in there, the sun will come out again, the ideas will flow, the help will come, and we climb right back up that spout just like the wee spider.
We might then get rained on again and slide back a bit again, but not nearly as much as the first time. Just keep going.
Steady consistent progress, adapting as we need to, & keep going forward, will win the day
And don’t forget to get help if you need it, take classes, ask questions, get inspiration from books and speakers.
It doesn’t have to be a solo journey.
