We recently spent some time in lovely Devon and visited the fab cafe at Watersmeet, Devon for traditional tea and scones.
The walk along the Watersmeet Trail from Lynmouth to Watersmeet is magical, but a bit challenging, as there is an incline along the way and you have work your way around and over rocks in some sections.
If you are in Devon, it’s well worth a visit to experience the smells, sights and quietness of nature. Your reward for your hiking efforts is the lovely, delicious cream tea at the cafe at the end of the trail.
The easiest way is to take the hike trail that runs along the river Lyn. It’s a bit less steep than the alternate route.
Here are a few photos and a video.

This is an amazing, enormous fallen tree. It’s a tradition to put coins in it to honour the spirits of the woods. You can see that many a passerby has done so!

I found a little crack and put in a coin to thank the spirit of the woods for a safe and interesting hike.
After hiking for some time, we at last reached the end of the trail and our reward delicious scone and tea at Watersmeet House.

Yummy cream and whortleberry jam scone. Made the hike even more well worth it! 😊
And here is a video… soothing, calming and beautiful!
